ABOUT CARE FARMING

Care farms utilize farm nature for therapeutic, educational, and/or vocational outcomes. Thousands of care farms operate throughout Europe and hundreds are in operation in the US. The US Care Farming Network aims to identify national care farms and provide training, resources, and community for US care farmers (more at www.carefarmingnetwork.org). Jamie is the Founder of Simple Sparrow Care Farm (www.simplesparrow.farm) and collaborates with CFN to train more people in care farming in the non-profit sector.

Jamie presented at the 1st Annual Care Farming Network conference in 2025 and identified a need to provide more resources in trauma-informed care farming. Jamie is developing a new online course, Trauma-Informed Care Farming (www.traumainformedcarefarming.org), which will launch by January 2026 to equip care farmers and therapists who meet clients at care farms, in applying trauma-informed care through farm nature.
